Initial Consultation ~1 ½ - 2 hours
A comprehensive in-home consultation that includes a thorough health history of you and your baby, including pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding, health issues that may affect breastfeeding, and your current concerns; an observation of a feeding and help with latching and positioning as needed to improve comfort and efficiency; assessing your baby’s weight and milk transfer during our session using a high resolution neonatal scale; physical assessment of you (breast anatomy) and your baby (oral anatomy); education on milk production and infant feeding cues, development, and behavior, as well as addressing your questions; an individualized care plan with supporting resources to help you meet your goals; professional reports to your health care providers; a “superbill” receipt to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement; and follow up phone calls and emails.
Follow-up Consultation ~1 hour
A visit to evaluate ongoing or related challenges,
track progress, and update your care plan as needed.
Prenatal Consultation & Education ~1 hour
An in-home assessment of any anticipatory concerns related to breastfeeding, review of any challenges related to previous breastfeeding experiences if applicable, and education and resources to help get breastfeeding off to a great start.
